Captain Bishop Bridge provides the only road access to the Port of Brisbane. The bridge was constructed in the 1970’s to design loads that were considerably smaller then present day loading. The Port wished to evaluate the performance of the bridge for these new loadings.
Texcel evaluated the load carrying capacity of the bridge
under different vehicles. Applying the results of an in-service
performance test refined the evaluation.
The information
enabled the Port of Brisbane Corporation to make better-informed
risk management decisions relating to the most efficient
utilisation of the bridge. |
