There
are situations where a standard investigation approach fails
to adequately predict the performance of a structure. In
these cases, it is not possible to quantify the risks associated
with keeping it in service or upgrading it for higher loads.
By
understanding a structure’s performance, and working
closely with the client’s engineers, we provide a more
detailed evaluation, allowing the client to get the most out
of their existing structures.
We
have helped clients deal with issues such as:
- Existing
structures that require upgrade or an extended design life,
yet the investigation calculations suggest that this is unacceptable.
- Existing
structures that do not satisfy the requirements of an appropriate
code, but have performed satisfactorily to date.
- Existing
structures that show signs of distress, yet the code suggests
the structure is performing acceptably.
All
our work is undertaken in accordance with the appropriate code,
and we can demonstrate compliance with all statutory regulations
- including quality management and workplace health and safety.
